What is the periosteum?
The outer layer on a bone that has nerves and blood vessels.
What mineral makes compact bones strong and hard?
Calcium
What is the bone tissue that forms tunnels and pores called?
Spongy bone.
What are the two kinds of bone marrow?
Red bone marrow and yellow bone marrow.
What are osteoblasts?
The cells that make new bone.
Where are the smallest bones in your body found?
In the ear.
Which is the longest bone in your body?
The femur.
Can you name at least 5 other bones in your body by their scientific name?
Tibia, fibula, and femur are leg bones.
Talus (short bone) is the ankle bone.
Cranium is the skull.
