What is the part of your nose that holds your olfactory cells called?
Olfactory epithelium
How are odors received and transferred to the brain?
The odor is received by the cilia of the olfactory cells and then transferred to the olfactory bulb, which sends the information to the brain.
Where are your taste buds formed?
In the papillae of the tongue.
What are the five taste sensations?
Sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and umami.
What is the pinna?
It is the part of the ear you see from the outside.
Why do ears make wax?
The wax traps foreign particles to keep them from getting to the middle or inner ear.
Name the three bones in the middle ear.
The malleus (hammer), incus (anvil), and stapes (stirrups).
What are otoliths?
Tiny stones in the ear that help you with balance.
What is the sclera?
It’s a tough, thin bag that forms your eyeball.
What is the pupil?
It is the part of your eye through which light enters.
What is the iris of an eye?
The part of the eye that adjusts how much light gets in.
