Lesson 2 Flashcards
Which type of parasitic the virus are?
intracellular parasites
What are the virus shapes?
polyhedral متعدد الاسطح
spherical كروي
complex كارتون
helicl لولبي
Viruses structure :-
envelp (membrane) not for all
Nucleic acid ( ssDNA,dsDNA,ssRNA,dsDNA)
Capsid (protin)
spikes (target specific cells) not for all
how does virus replication occurs?
RNA virus (-) :- inside the cells transforms form vRNA into mRNA and use tRNA (transcription) RNA virus (+) :- inside the cells use tRNA (transcription) DNA virus :- in inside the nucleus, using nucleus enzymes (translation and transcription)
what is the different between Enveloped and Non-Enveloped Viruses
Enveloped
more sensitive to heat, dryness and PH
hard target for immune system (because they use the cell membrane in replication)
Exocytosis without lysis
Non-Enveloped
Exocytosis by lysis (Stimulates the immune system)
Easy target for immune system
what is the different between + RNA and - RNA?
+ RNA = mRNA
- RNA must be transfers into mRNA firstly
lytic and lysogenic cycle ?
lytic :- kills the bacteria
lysogenic :- DNA fuse and make a new bacteria and when it replicate it make the same new bacteria , after a while the DNA split and the BACTERIOPHAGES release again
What is the structure of bacteria?
Cell wall Plasma membrane (cell membrane) + or - Cytoplasm Nucleus tides (dsDNA) and plasmid Ribosomes Capsule Flagellum / flagella Pilus / pili Mesosma :- invagination of membrane (ATP)
What is the the difference between germ + and - in bacteria?
Garm +
Internal layer of phospholipid
Thicker protein layer
Purple / blue color
Germ -
Internal and external layers of phospholipid
Thinner protein layer
Red / pink color
