Q

what does research into attachment do for the economy?

A

early attachment research suggested that fathers should provide an economic rather than emotional function
more recent research has shown that both parents are equally capable of providing emotional support
more fathers stay at home, contribute less to the economy
more mothers return to work, contributing more to the economy and may reduce the gender pay gap
changing laws on paternity leave so fathers can now have 2 weeks off when their baby is born which is government funded so there is a drain on the economy and may negatively impact employers through loss of productivity
