Are vehicles that carry messages from one person to another. Use to send/or receive information.
Media
It can refer to any facts or details about a subject that depict meanings to a person.
Information
The ability to read, analyze, evaluate and produce communication in a variety of media forms, e.g. television, print, radio, computers, etc.
Media Literacy
Set of abilities which require individual to recognize when information is needed and to locate, evaluate, and use it effectively.
Information Literacy
What is UNESCO?
United Nation Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
Ability to use digital technology, communication tools or networks to locate, evaluate, use and create information.
Technology Literacy
Shows a linear type of communication process. This means that we follow a straight line of sending a message from one point to another.
Shannon-Weaver’s Model of Communication
Not only does it mean being able to utilize various tools for communication. It also involves becoming a responsible user of these technologies.
A Media and Information literate
What are the three among the many pitfalls of modern technology?
Over-reliance on technology, misinformation, and privacy concerns.
Being able to understand that chats, video conferencing, and other similar platforms should never take the place of personal and quality communication is a must for family members at home. This includes concerns that involve highly sensitive information, or conversations that may become a cause of misunderstanding.
A Technology Literate
Being able to determine the validity of an information by checking how reliable their sources are. It includes being able to avoid misinterpretations of your message by the use of proper language, symbolisms, delivery, and channel of communication.
A Media Literate
Being able to navigate the World Wide Web free from invasion of personal data stored in online accounts and devices.
A Information and Technology Literate
The Information SENDER is you, the one who had an idea to share. From the source, the MESSAGE is relayed as a piece of information. You use the box, the megaphone or microphone-speaker as your channels to spread your message. The CHANNEL is essentially the media that helps you reach your intended audience (RECEIVER). As soon as they receive your information, that’s when the communication process ends.
SMCR (SENDER, MESSAGE, CHANNEL, & RECEIVER)
When a media outlet is use to disseminate a piece of information to a large audience.
Mass Media
This refers to the person who developed the SMCR model of communication with implied feedback.
