17

what organs are in the male reproductive system

A

sperm

18
Q

what organs are in the female reproductive system

A

egg

19
Q

what organs are in the lymphatic system

A

cells

20
Q

what organs are in the endocrine system

A

pituitary gland, thyroid, thymus, adrenal glands, pancreas, ovaries

21
Q

what organs are in the integumentary system

A

skin, hair, nails

22
Q

what organs are in the excretory system

A

kidney, ureter, urinary bladder, urethra

23
Q

what organs are in the digestive system

A

small intestine

24
Q

what organs are in the nervous system

A

brain

25
Q

how are structure and function linked

A

the function of the structure could not occur if the structure wasn’t there. vise versa

26
Q

what are the two ways that body systems work together

A

body systems share organs and body systems communicate

27
Q

how do body systems share organs

A

ex. the liver is part of the digestive and the excretory systems. the heart is part of the muscular systems and the cardiovascular system

28
Q

how do body systems communicate

A

they communicate by sending chemical and electrical messages.
nerve cells send electrical messages from one cell to the next. the endocrine system sends chemical messages through the bloodstream.

29
Q

define homeostasis

A

the maintenance of a stable internal environment

30
Q

how do the body systems respond to change

A

if the external environment changes, the body systems have to work together to maintain the stable internal environment. ex. if body cells are too cold and do not work properly they could die. if the brain senses the body temp it tells the muscles to shiver which creates heat

31
Q

how do body systems maintain a balance

A

the body systems have have to recognize the changing environment and respond to it in the right way. the electrical messages from the nervous system and the chemical signals from the endocrine system to tell what changes the body needs to make.
