It determines how we relate to Him and our eternal destiny

Why is it important to know how to respond to Jesus?
If we believe Jesus was who He said He was our response will determine our eternal destiny. Salvation is also dependant on how we respond to who He is and what we do with Him.
What is meant by the conclusion that Jesus was a liar?
He deceived people.
what is meant by the conclusion that Jesus was a lunatic?
He really thought He was God. Base belief was flawed.
Actually insane.
What is meant by the conclusion that Jesus was Lord?
He really was who He claimed to be
Who do you think Jesus was? why?
Lord of the universe. He is God because Jesus can’t be just a good man and a good teacher. Both Son of God and Man.
What is meant by the statement that Jesus is ‘ One Person with Two Natures”?
In the one person of Christ, there are two natures. Human and divine.
What is meant by the statement that the two natures of Christ are “ distinguishable but indivisible”?
They can be told apart, but not separated.
What is the importance of the orthodox view of the person of Christ to our salvation?
Salvation would not be possible if Jesus was not fully God and Man.
Jesus could not do what He did if He hadn’t been who He was.
What are two streams of OT prophesy concerning the person of Christ?
- declared the Messiah to be the Son of God
- declared the Messiah to be the Son of Man
How is Jesus Christ the fulfillment of these two prophetic streams?
Made possible by the virgin birth.
What was Jesus claim concerning His own birth?
Claimed God was His Father. Never claimed Joseph as His Father
What was the claim of the New Testament writers concerning the birth of Christ?
Paul and John claim that Jesus came from God and was the Son of God that came in flesh.
What is God’s eternal purpose for mankind?
Relationship,character,function and reproduction.
Why was i necessary for God to make a covenant with mankind?
God only relates to other beings in terms of covenant
What was the result of mans breaking of the covenant?
Separation from God.
what is necessary to pay the of mans covenant breaking?
only a man could pay the penalty by dieing for a man.
Why was it necessary for Christ to be sinless?
Because if He wasn’t, He HImself would be in need of a Saviour.
What does the phrase “ God-Man” refer to?
Son of God had to become Son of man
How has God reinstated His eternal purpose for mankind?
Miraculous birth of Jesus.
When the plan of redemption is completely/redeemed man will be able to fulfill the purpose for which Adam was created.
What are the implications of Christ’s self-emptying to our personal lives?
He did what the Father did and just obeyed Him.
Shows us how to submit/ be dependant on God.
How does the incarnation of Christ reveal the Father to us?
Expresses the image of His person: Heb. 1:3
tangible ex. of what the Father is like.
How will the incarnation of Christ make possible the final destruction of the works of the Devil?
To destroy the works of the Devil.

How was Jesus “self-existent”?
Life is in Himself (John 5:26). Son always existed.
How was Jesus “pre-existent”?
John 8:28- He is Before creation (Abraham)
How did Jesus demonstrate the “moral attributes” of God?
In His: holiness,righteousness,love,faithfulness
What divine names were used of Jesus?
Lord, I AM, Sond of God, the truth.
Why was it necessary for Jesus to be fully human?
So that He could experience the same things we do. God could not redeem man as God, He had to become a man.
In what way did Jesus have a human nature?
He has all the ingredient of human nature: spirit, soul,body
In what way did Jesus experience normal human growth and development?
He was born as a baby and grew in stature and knowledge.
What are “sinless infirmities”?
Weariness,hunger, thirst, needing of sleep, temptation, limited in knowledge.
