Who was Jesus the son of?
Son of God and Son of Man.
What is the importance of the orthodox view of the person of Christ to our salvation?
Salvation would not be possible if Jesus was not fully God and Man.
Jesus could not do what He did, if He hadn’t been who He was.
Why was it necessary for Christ to be sinless?
Because if He wasn’t, He Himself would have needed a Saviour.

Jesus showed us that the way to overcome sin is to combine the divine nature and human nature.

In His sinless humanity is the sacrifice. In His diety He is the High Priest.
What does the word “atonement” mean and what does it imply?
To cover. It implies God covering our sin and clothing us in HIs righteousness.
How was the Passover lamb a type of atonement?
to “cover” those inside from death.
What is meant by the statement: “Jesus came to die”?
Tasted death for all mankind so that we would be redeemed.
How was the death of Christ a glorious victory?
It was a glorious conquest. Spoiled principalities and powers, making show of them openly.
Describe the first place the soul of Jesus went after His death.
The soul of Jesus went to the Father in paradise when He died.
How important is the resurrection to the Gospel? Why?
Without the resurrection there is no Gospel, it’s necessary to fulfill the plan of redemption.
Sign that Jesus was fully qualified to redeem.
How did the lives of the disciples bear witness to the resurrection of Christ?
They were transformed.
How can we receive the grace of God?
Through gratitude and humility.
Why is it important to understand that it is God who initiates both the provision and the application of the atonement?
So that we don’t read into spiritual pride thinking that we incited and so God will receive all the glory.
