Q

Est-ce que

A

Is, Are, Do, Does

IMPORTANT: The magic expression “Est-ce que” turns a regular statement in to a question. However, the “is, are, do, does” that this expression adds does NOT replace the verb already in the question. Example: Est-ce qu’il est beau? = Is he good-looking? The need for “est” is still there even though the “Est-ce que” is present.
