What are the eight legal responsibilities of data holders laid out in the Data Protection Act?
Data must be processed fairly
Data can only be used for the process it was collected
Only Data that is needed should be collected
Data must be up to date
Data must not be held for more than five years after it is needed
Data will be used in accordance to the rights if the data subjects
Data will be kept securely
Data will not be transferred to countries without similar data protection laws.
What are the five rights of the data subjects laid out in the Data Protection act?
The data subject is able to request all data held
A right to object to processing data that is likely to cause or will cause damage or distress.
A right to prevent processing of data for direct marketing
The data subject is able to wrong data corrected or deleted
A right to claim compensation for breaches of the data protection act
What are the three types of offences listed onthe Compiter Misuse Act 1990?
Unauthorised access to computer material
Unauthorised access with intent to commit further offences
Intentional and unauthorised destruction of software or data
What does a public domain license mean?
The work without permission or attribution for any purpose
What does an attribution license mean?
The work can be used, copied and distributed as long as the creator is given credit for creating it
What does a Attribution-non-commercial license mean?
The work can be used as long as the creator is given credit and it is used for non-commercial purposes.
