What are the four legal authorities for SF?
SF has the authority to detain, apprehend, Report, and Correct.
What does it mean to detain?
refers to civilians taken into custody
What does it mean to apprehend?
refers to military members being placed arrest
What does it mean to report authority refer to?
SF personnel are mandated reporters and have the authority to prepare or present an official detailed report with violations of UCMJ to proper authorities.
What does authority to correct refer to?
SF has the authority to correct, caution, or warn offenders of minor laws and regulations infractions.
What does SF NOT have the authority to do?
SF members do not have the authority to punish.

They will be referred to the investigations section or local law enforcement.
