Lateral head: Lat fem condyle along its lat surface and th adjoining supracondylar line
DA: Post surfcae of the calcaneus at its mid level
Inn: Tibial n (S1,2)
Actions: PF ankle, flexes knee, controls ant tibial advancement during gait
Soleus
PA: Post aspect of the fibular head, posterior shaft of the fibula along its proximal 1/4, tibial soleal line, middle 1/3 of tibial medial border
DA: Post surface of the calcaneus at its midlevel
Inn: Tibial n (S1,2)
Actions: PF the ankle
Plantaris
PA: Distal aspect f the lat supracondylar line of the femur and oblique popliteal ligament
DA: Med border of calcaneal tendon and hence to posterior aspect of calcaneus
Inn: Tibial n (S1,2)
Actions: Weakly PF the ankle
