Gastrocnemius

A

PA: Medial Head: Post surface of the medial femoral condyle lateral to the adductor tubercle and to the adjoining portion of the popliteal surface.
Lateral head: Lat fem condyle along its lat surface and th adjoining supracondylar line

DA: Post surfcae of the calcaneus at its mid level

Inn: Tibial n (S1,2)

Actions: PF ankle, flexes knee, controls ant tibial advancement during gait

A

PA: Post aspect of the fibular head, posterior shaft of the fibula along its proximal 1/4, tibial soleal line, middle 1/3 of tibial medial border

DA: Post surface of the calcaneus at its midlevel

Inn: Tibial n (S1,2)

Actions: PF the ankle

A

PA: Distal aspect f the lat supracondylar line of the femur and oblique popliteal ligament

DA: Med border of calcaneal tendon and hence to posterior aspect of calcaneus

Inn: Tibial n (S1,2)

Actions: Weakly PF the ankle

DA: Post tibia proximal to the soleal line

Inn: Tibial n (L4,5, S1)

Actions: Unlocks the extended fully knee
OC: Med rotates the tibia
CC: Lat rotates the femur

Tibialis Posterior

A

PA: Most of interosseus membrane, lat portion of post surface of tibia, prox 2/3 of med surface of fibula, adj intermuscular septa and deep fascia

DA: Navicular tuberosity, plantar surface of medial cuneiform, sustentaculum tali, plantar aspects of the intermediate cuneiform and bases of the 2nd -4th MT

Inn: Tibial n (L4,5)

Actions: Inverts the foot (principle inverter), PF ankle and foot

A

PA: MEdial part of post surface of tibia inferior to soleal line and fascia covering tibialis posterior

DA: Distal phalanges of the 4 lesser toes along their plantar aspects

Inn: Tibial n (S1,2,3)

Actions: Flexes the phalanges and PF ankle

A

PA: Post surface of the fibula along distal 2/3, adj interosseous membrane and the posterior intermuscular septum.

DA: Plantar aspect of the distal phalanx of the hallux

Inn: Tibial n (S1,2,3)

Actions: Flexes the great toe and PF the ankle
