No there is not since people most of them get enough. The typical amount is 80 grams per day.
describe the requirements for putting “source of protien” claim on food packagining
To qualify a reasonable dailyy intake(one serving) of that food must have a protien rating ofd 20 or more
what is the protien rating equation?
Protien rating= protien content (g) in a reasonable daily intake x PER
what is the criteria to qualify as a low source of protien
no more than 1 g per 100g of the food
what is the criteria to qualify as a high source of protien
- protien rating of 20 or more
- contains @ least 25% more protien than regular product which totals at least 7 g more than the food it is compared to per reasoanble daily intake
what is the criteria to qualify as an excellent source of protien
needs a protien rating of 40 or more

PER can be determined from PDCAA to calculate protien rating and therefore asses if it qualifies for certain claims
Differentiate between functional health claims and disease risk reduction claims
Health claims anything in labeling or advertising that states,suggest or implies that there is a relationship between consuming that food and a persons health.
Under this branch exist two claims functional health claims which are saying there is a specific benifical effect with consuming the food on normal functions or biological activies.
The other branch is disease risk reduction which is a statment linking a food to reducing risk of developing diet related disease/condtion or they treate disease

- functional: consumimh X grams of fibre promotes regularity
- disease: oat fibers help lower cholesterol
what is the protien related disease reduction claim and specifications
Soy protien reduces blood cholesterol levels. To qualify it must contain at least 6 grams of soy protien per serving size, 2. must contain 100 mg or less of cholesterol per 100 gram of food, 3. 0.5% or less alchohol and 4. have less than 15% DV of sodium per serving or 25% if prepackaged.
what are the donts and dos of functional claims
they do not refer to a specific food, they cant imply a food is better than another. The target population must be able to consume enough that it would have an effect. An example includes “helps build and repair body tissues”.
