- שכבה 4 מקבלת מידע מהתלמוס. המידע שהגיע מהתלמוס לגבי אם להוציא לפועל תנועה או לא, והמידע לגבי החושים שלנו יגיע לאזורים קורטיקליים של שכבה 4.
- שכבה 2 ו3 מקבלים מידע מאזורים אחרים בקורטקס.
- כולם יכולים לקבל מידע מגזע המוח.
