Q

T/F Study-subject group allocation that occurs where every study subject has an equal probability of being assigned to any one of the intervention groups is called Random?

A

True
I’m guessing the trick is here that they are already a study subject, but it was my understanding that randomization is not the best way to get a representative pool of subjects due to pre req’s of selecting study subjects.

Q

A 6-month study is conducted in which adult patients with hypertension were randomized to treatment with either an available combination of benazepril/hydrochlorothiazide once daily or an investigational diltiazem/losartan combination once daily for the treatment of hypertension. Which of the following phrases most appropriately demonstrates the construction of a null hypothesis for this interventional trial?
A.
Both combinations will equally treat hypertension.
B.
Neither combination will be able to demonstrate effective treatment of hypertension unless they are given twice daily.
C.
There will be no difference between the combination products during the first half of the 6 month study but dosing of the diltiazem/losartan combination will need to be increased during the final half of the study to maintain equal efficacy.
D.
The investigational combination of diltiazem/losartan will not be as effective for the treatment of hypertension compared to the already-available combination of benazepril/hydrochlorothiazide.
