How to distinguish between Monoecious and Dioecious flowers?
A Monoecious flower would posses both the female and male parts, while Dioecious flowers are separated into male and female plants.
What is a perfect flower?
A flower with floral parts that are arranged in four whorls.
Complete vs. Incomplete flowers?
Complete - flower has both male and female parts.
Incomplete - only has female or male parts.
Cleistogamous vs. Chasmogamous?
Chasmogamous flowers open at maturity. Cleistogamous flowers do not open and remain in the bud state. Cleistogamous flowers can only carry out self-pollination.
Superior vs. Inferior ovaries?
Superior - The sepals, petals, stamens are attached to the receptacle at a point below the ovary.
Half-inferior - the sepals, petals, stamens are attached to the rim of a hypanthium that surrounds but is not fused to the ovary wall.
Inferior - The sepals, petals stamens are all attached to the hypanthium above the ovary.
