When to screen for Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)

A
  • best time = wellness visit with patient
  • also OK to screen when injury/illness makes you suspect something
  • more often, women are abused by men, but there is also violence in same sex couples and to men by women
  • screening done while patient is clothed and in private
