What are the 5 P’s of Sexual Health?
A
- Partners (how many and when)
- Practices (condom usage and kinds of sex had)
- Protection from STDs (what do you need for protection)
- Past history of STDs (have you or partner had STIs?)
- Prevention of Pregnancy

When to screen for Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)
A
- best time = wellness visit with patient
- also OK to screen when injury/illness makes you suspect something
- more often, women are abused by men, but there is also violence in same sex couples and to men by women
- screening done while patient is clothed and in private

HITS (IPV Screening)
A
- self-reported or physician administered
- Hit, Insult, Threaten, Scream)
1 = never, 3 = sometimes, 5 = frequently
- score of 10+ = positive screen

STAT (IPV Screening)
A
- physician administered
- Slapped, Threatened, and Thrown
- positive answer to any of these questions = positive screen
