LECTURE 6/7/8 - quantitative data analysis Flashcards
One-tailed test
The area of a normal distribution cure showing the region of rejection for the null hypothesis where the direction predicted by the hypothesis is known
Two-tailed test
The two areas of a normal distribution curve showing the regions of rejection for the null hypothesis where the direction is predicted by the hypothesis is not known
Chi square test
test used when we want to test a hypothesis that includes two nominal variables
Independent t-test
when we compare the average value of the dependent variable between two independent groups. There is an experimental group and a control group
Dependent t-test
when we compare the average value of the dependent variable for one group, twice (before and after)
regression analysis test is used if…
we test if there is a linear relationship between the independent variable and if this relationship is positive or negative
