lecture 4 Flashcards
what is frame rate?
number of pictures (frames) per second. (fps)
if fast events are wanted to be captured clearly, what speed of frame rate do we want?
high frame rate
aperture
size of the opening of the lens. larger aperture allows more light in but reduces depth of field. (f-stops)
shutter
Opens and closes to expose sensor to light. Slower shutter, more light, but can cause motion blur. Fast movements need fast shutter (and lots of light). (1/???)
ISO
how sensitive it is to light. can lighten dark pictures but will add graininess. best image quality at low ISO values, but needs lots of light.
what does a wide lens make near object look like?
appear larger then they are.
why is video calibration needed?
to make linear measurements. relates the pixels to real world units.
