- Denial: Lack of awareness, no interest in other cultures.
- Polarization: “Us” vs. “them” mindset, defensive attitudes.
- Minimization: Attempt to level cultural differences, moving beyond judgment.
- Acceptance: Acknowledgment of own and other cultures’ value.
- Adaptation: Understanding and valuing other perspectives, adjusting behavior.
- Integration: Appreciating multiple cultures, blending own and others’ values and behaviors.
