Organization, procedure, and merit.
Political Parties
A group with common interests that seek to control government
Jobs of political parties
Coordination, selection and recruitment of leaders, representation
Conservative party type
Support the free market in a way that preserves the status quo
Christian Democrats party type
Support government programs, more progressive, and social welfare. Religion should help the week. No immigrants or groups who want social change. Conservative social values.
Liberals party type
Liberty and limited government interferences. All about business. Capitalism, don’t care about social issues.
Socialist/social democracy party type
Started to help workers get rights, more welfare programs. Eventually embraced economic liberalism to help generate profits to redistribute. Debates.
Specialized/ extremist party type
Environmentalist, hunting parties, keeping out immigrants. Strong connections with voters because they have specific issues. Can be difficult once elected to decide on other issues.
Populists party type
Say that society is divided into good masses and corrupt elites. Feel the masses are the true definition of society and a unified block. Cant negotiate and want to ignore sub groups and devalue diversity.
