Q

What is the blood supply to the urogenital triangle and what do they supply specifically?

A

Femoral A. > External Pudendal A. > Scrotum/Labia majora + clitoris

Internal Iliac A. > Internal Pudendal A. > most perineal structures

17
Q

What innervates the urogenital triangle and what do they supply specifically?

A

S2-S4 > Pudendal N. > Perineal N. (scrotum, urethras, labias, motor to ischio, bulbo, deep and superficial transverse, + Dorsal N. (penis/clitoris, motor to urethral sphincter )

18
Q

What fibers does the pudendal n. carry?

A
  • Preganglionic parasympathetic and postganglionic sympathetic to glands
  • somatic and sensory fibers to muscles and skin of perineum
19
Q

What are the causes of male impotence?

A
  • prostatic nerve plexus damage (no erection)
  • atherosclerosis (no blood supply)
  • Type 2 DM
  • -spinal cord injury
  • hormonal or psych disorders
20
Q

What structures drain to the superficial inguinal nodes?

What structures drain to the internal iliac nodes?

A
  • superficial perineal space, distal vagina, and anal canal below pectinate line
  • deep perineal space, proximal vagina
21
Q

What is an episiostomy?

A
  • incision done through the posterior vag wall, bulbo, superficial transverse, skin and fascia to open up cavity for childbirth (could be midline or medio-lateral)
  • repaired with 3 layers of incision
