Lecture 20 Flashcards
What is an immune synapse?
any stable, flattened interface between a lymphocyte and any cell that it is recognizing
What is a SMAC?
supra-molecular activation complex– the area of interface in an immune synapse
/what does a cSMAC consist of?
TCR, CD3 signalling proteins, CD4/CD8 coreceptor, CD28 or ICOS
What is a p-SMAC?
peripheral region enriched with adhesion proteins such as integrins that stablize the interaction of T cell and APC
Which cell is the most potent activator of naive alpha beta T cells?
Dendritic cell
Is activation of CD4 T cells essential in the development of adaptive immune responses?
Yes in CTL, T dependent B cell response, MP superactivation
No in T independent B cell response
What are the five types of CD4 T cells?
