Hominidae- Great apes.

Family 2
Hylobatidae- Lesser apes.
Hylobates, Hoolock, Symphalangus and Nomascus.
Gorilla
Two species, Gorilla Gorilla (Western gorillas) and Gorilla Beringei (eastern gorillas). Location in African tropical forests. Harem mating system. Eat foliage and fruit. Non- territorial.
Pan
Two species, P. troglodytes and P. paniscus. African tropical forests. Multi male/multi female mating sysytem. Eat fruit and foliage and non territorial.
pongo
Two species, P. pygmaeus; P. abelii. Borneo and sumatra rainforest. Multi male/multi female. Eat fruits and grains and are non territorial.
Hylobates
EG. Gibbons. SE Asia in tropical forests. Monogomous mating systems. Eat fruit and foliage and are territorial
