what is a domain
domain is the highest taxonomic rank which contains 3 groups: Eukaryotae , Archaea and Bacteria.
//what are the three groups within the domain
Archaea (thermophiles)
Bacteria (cyanobacteria)
3. Eukarya (protoctista, fungi, plants and animals)
the Linnean system

Why is biodiversity important?
-New medicines may be discovered
- Preserve food chains and keep ecosystems stable
Maintain interdependence
Maintain the right physical environment for each other
Economic, produce food material for example
Ethical, all species have a right to survive
Aesthetic
Why the reduction in biodiversity?
Monoculture
Deforestation
Human pollution (air, water, soil)
Land use
Protecting biodiversity
Breeding programmes for endangered species
Protection and regeneration of rare habitats.
Reintroduction of field margins and hedgerows.
Reduction of deforestation and carbon dioxide emissions.
Recycling resources.
describe features of organism in prokaryote
unicellular organisms with no internal or nuclear membranes but possessing a cell wall
describe features of organism in fungi
eukaryotic organism possessing cell walls and large vacuoles in their cells
describe features of organism in Protoctista
small organism possessing both internal ad nuclear membranes
describe features of organism in platae
eukaryotic organism possessing cell walls and large vacuoles in their cells
describe features of organism in animalia
heterotrophic organism showing nervous co ordination
