No, unlike the education and healthcare industries.
What roles do Librarians typically have?

What responsibilities does a Library Technician have?
They handle technical tasks and customer service. There is some blurring of roles now between librarians & lib techs.
Libraries have the freedom to create what?
Their own job titles and hierarchical structure, leading to a variety of job descriptions.
What are four skills/characteristics essential to working in a library?
Active listening, critical thinking, flexibility, and commitment to service.
Traditionally libraries are dominated by who?
White women. They have historical and current issues related to gender, race, and class. Libraries serve diverse communities, requiring staff to be sensitive to different languages, needs and cultural norms.
Where has technology heavily impacted library roles?
Cataloguing.
What are driving role changes in libraries?
Technology, budget cuts, and changes in the information world.
