the bladder must be full to push the intestines up and out of the way

Water in the pouch of Douglas indicates?
physiological: after ovulation, back flow from menstruation
disease: inflammation or ectopic pregnancy (due to new blood supply being established)
Polycystic ovarian syndrome appearance on US?
looks like a ‘string of pearls’
eggs are matured but never released
Test to see if F tube is open or blocked?
Insert dye into the uterine cavity and spillage out the end by the ovary indicates that it is open. This opening is out to the abdominal cavity.
Plain film use for male pelvis?
pretty shit aye
Excluding testicular torsion?
important as there is a small window where b the testes can be saved. Done by using US and checking blood flow. If there is blood flow it is likely to be epididymitis or appendix torsion.
What is epididymitis?
appearance on US?
inflammation of the epididymis caused by UTI or STI in adults and streptococcus or E. Coli in children.
May be swelled and will have increased blood flow
