What happened in 1918-1920? and how did it spread?
A global Influenza Pandemic, it was aided by ill-health left by the great war and was spread to distant locations by ship.
How many people died to the Spanish flu? and how many died in the great war?
50-130 million people died to the spanish flu, the great war had 17 million deaths.
What began in the United States in 1920s and spread to Europe?
The Jazz Age
How did Jazz come over to Europe?
African American servicemen found wartime life in France more acceptable than in the United States and returned after the war.
What happened to Germany in 1923?
Defaulted on the payments for the Treaty of Versailles, was invaded by France and Belgium in the Ruhr territory which was their coal mines as well as numberous factories.
What is the Dawes plan?
Money is loaned to Germany to allow it to pay its war debts, regain the Ruhr, and rebuild its economy, this also helped to stabilize the German Weimar Republic (representative government)
What did the Social Demecrat party do?
Helped ensure that German militarism would not be a threat again.
What doomed the Weimar Republic?
The Great Depression in 1929
