What does ‘marginalized by inequity’ mean?
- populations of clients who are likely to develop health problems as a result of excessive risks

- people in precarious circumstances
- people with chronic conditions and disabilities

what do people in poverty experience? definition of poverty.
economic deprivation, lack of income, is a standard feature in most definitions of poverty
- but this does not take into account the myriad of social, cultural, and political aspects of the phenomenon
- poverty is not only a deprivation of economic or material resources, but a violation of human dignity
what are some health risks associated with poverty?
- experience poorer health outcomes than people with ready access to resources and health services
- increased incidence of acute and chronic disease conditions, including mental illness
- higher morbidity and mortality rates
- experience cumulative risk factors making them more sensitive to adverse effects
- less access to preventative screening
- more exposure to violence
- stigma
