What is Primary Intervention? In relation to CVD?
A
- Preventative measures to stop those at
risk developing the disease - Help patients stop smoking, improve diet,
more exercise

What is Secondary Intervention? In relation to CVD?
A
- Prevent disease progression
- i.e. from angina to MI or death
- Medication for hypertension or high
cholesterol

What is Tertiary Intervention? In relation to CVD?
A
- Aims to prevent the recurrence of a MI
- i.e. revascularisation after a MI for severe
cases of CHD
