what is the Dublin Regulation?
The country where the asylum seeker first applies for asylum is responsible for the procedure, and the seeker may not restart the procedure in another country after rejection.
what happened during the June 2016 summit?
European Commission: relocate 40 000 asylum-seekers in Italy and Greece, Malta to other EU countries based on a system of mandatory quotas.
how did some MS react to this relocation?
Some MS voted against the relocations plan, even if this is by majority voted accepted, they were not going to take refugees into their countries. Some countries have not welcomed refugees.
what did the EC do to the MS that did not welcome any refugees?
bring them in front of the court to panelize them.
which plans for refugees failed?
relocation and the Dublin regulation also failed.
