–May prevent members of a community from being able to access their own cultural and natural treasures
–Ourtoruism puts severe pressure on local infrastructure and community and environmental resources
–Instances of litter, graffiti, theft, and other types of damage are high at tourist sites
–Tourism fuels globalization and the demand for western lifestyles
–Tourism creates many negative environmental impacts including pollution from transportation and destruction of habitat
