What is the medical model?
- Treating illness not the person
- Using medicine as fix all
- Patient lacks control & autonomy
How does PERSONHOOD help?
- Breaks down stigma and negative beliefs
- Helps people to get more help

-> Looking at the person rather than their disability, race, age, etc

What is Personhood?
Recognizing that people have their own story, values, beliefs, preferences, dreams, hopes and contributions in society
- Ask questions, take time to get to know them
Good questions to ask the client are…
“What is the most important thing for me to know?”
“What did you do for work?”
“What are your hobbies?”
“Any regrets?”
