May be interpersonal and one-on-one (speech, writing, facial gestures) or technical and broader in scale.
Specifically, a technological development that extends the channel, range of speed of communication among large groups of people

Channels through which message travels from source to receiver.
They are the channels for mass communication and the organisations that transmit them.
