What does the ICAO do?
It coordinates the principles and techniques of international air navigation, and commits to the planning and development of international air transport to ensure safe and orderly growth.
What is the 1st freedom of the air?
The right to fly over a foreign country without landing.
What is the 2nd freedom of the air?
The right to refuel or carry out maintenance in a foreign country without embarking of disembarking passengers or cargo. Ex: flight from Italy to US stopping in the UK.
What is the 3rd freedom of the air?
The right to fly from one’s own country to another country. Ex: fly with KLM to Italy.
What is the 4th freedom of the air?
The right to fly from another country to one’s own. Ex: from Italy to Netherlands with KLM.
What is the 5th freedom of the air?
The right to fly between two foreign countries on a flight originating or ending is one’s own country. Ex: From Vancouver to Prague stopping in Madrid.
What is the 6th freedom of the air?
The right to fly form a foreign country to another while stopping in one’s own country for non-technical reasons. Ex: From New Zealand to US, flown by Airfrance with a stop in French Polynesia.
What is the 7th freedom of the air?
The right to fly between two foreign countries, where the flight do not touch one’s own country. Ex: Italy to Belgium by KLM.
What is the 8th freedom of the air?
The right to fly isnide a foreign country on a flight that originates or ends in one’s own country or in a third country. Ex: LA to NY and the nto Ams or Paris with KLM.
What is the 9th freedom of the air?
The right to fly withing a foreign ountry without continuing to one’sown country. Ex: LA to NY by KLM.
