Lecture 06 - Fallopian Tube, Uterus, Cervix Flashcards
Fallopian Tube: General Characteristics
10-12 cm
Broad lig.: except infundibulum
Fallopian Tube: Partition
- Infundibulum + ovarian fimberia
- Ampulla: fertilization, 7cm, biggest part
- isthmus: 1*0.025 cm
- intramural: to inside of uterus, ART, tightest part of fallopian tube
Fallopian Tube: open infundibulum
- Extrauteral pregnancy
2. Possible peritonitis
Fallopian Tube: Abilities
- Transportation of egg to uterus –> tubal pregnancy
2. Road for sperm–> tubal ligation as anti-fertilization –> ART
Fallopian Tube: Blood Supply
- Uterine(gonadal) a.
- Ovarian a. –> infundibulum
- Uterine v.
- Ovarian v. –> infundibulum
Fallopian Tube: Lymph
- Internal Iliac nodes
- Para aortic –> infundibulum
- Inguinal –> para
Uterus: General Charateristics
Palpable
Muscular
853
Uterus: Layers
- Endometrium –> polyps - endometriosis
- Myometrium: growth with pregnancy as numbers and volume –> tumors - hysterectomy or tumor removal
- Perimetrium: external CT, mostly covered with peritoneum
Uterus: Partition
- Fundus: posterior to pubis symphysis
- Carpus: 5cm
- Isthmus: between carpus and cervix
- Cervix: anterior to rectum, posterior to bladder/urethera, 3.5 cm
Cervix: General Characteristics
Openings: 1. External 2. Internal Mucous: Unaffected by hormones Pelica Paulmata --> high estrogen --> these get farther for sperms to move Thick moucos
Cervix: Partition
- Vaginal: no changes
2. Supravaginal: at the end of pregnancy opens up
Uterus: Adjacents
Inferior: bladder
Superior: rectouterine recess –> sigmoid colon
Posterior: rectum
Lateral: intestine
Uterus: Holders
- Cardinal/Transverse lig.
- Broad lig.
- Pubocervical
- Proper lig. Of uterus –> from fundus into inguinal canal to major labium - between the 2 layers of broad lig.
Uterus: Prolaps
Uterus moves into vagina
Infection, hemorrhage, pain
Treatment:
- Hysterectomy: old ages
- Repair lig.
- Ring on levator ani and vagina
Cervix: damage to cervix holders
- Long Extreme pregnancy
- Malnutrition: vit. C
- Collagen based diseases
