Q

In order to answer these questions what does the robot need?

A

1) Map of the enviroment(given or auronomously built)
2) Perceive and analyze the environment
3) Locate itself in the environment
4) Plan and execture the movement

Q

What are closed world and open world assumptions? What is a frame problem?

A

Closed world assumption: The world model must contain everything. There must be no surprises.

Open world assumption: Open world is the exact opposite of this. The model may be available but only partially correct. Must sense the relevant information of the world in order to dynamically adapt to the world (this is about autonomy)
Frame problem: problem of representing real world in a way that is computationally tractable

Q

What is a robot? In terms of SCI FI and ISO?

A

In terms of sci fi the robot is an automatons working in the place of human workers.
ISO:
The robot is an actuated mechanism, it is programmable in two or more axes, with some degree of autonomy, moving in its environment, to perform the intended tasks

Q

What are the differences between the mobile robots and industrial robots?

A

Mobile robots can move in any direction where for the industrial robots, the objects position is predefined because of the closed world assumption. Mobile robots can work in variety of environments where industrial robots are often suited for specific tasks
