lec OHE REVIEWER Flashcards
A branch of science that deals with the study of the microscopic structure of oral and dental tissue
ORAL HISTOLOGY
Are membrane-bound cell organelles
MITOCHONDRIA
Are minute threadlike bodies of different lengths and circumferences
FILAMENTS
It is inside the cell that contains the cytoplasm containing organelles inclusion bodies and amorphous matrix.
PROTOPLASM
A branch of medical science that deals with the study of minute structures of tissue and organs of the body
HISTOLOGY
The most prominent organelle in a cell
NUCLEUS
Has a variable size and is closely associated with mitochondria and built to function as an energy source
LIPIDS
Brought to play role in mitotic activity,Celia and flagella movement, and cytoplasm movement within the cell(cyclosis)
CENTRIOLES OR LIPOSOMES
A group of cells with intercellular substance and tissue fluid, performing a definite function.
TISSUE
Golgi complex shows various forms but the most common is in form
PLATES OF LEMELLAE OR PLATES OF CISTERNAE
Consist of minute fluid containing membrane-bound tubules known as canaliculi, cisternae, or vesicles.
ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM
Composed of carbohydrates, protein, pigments, crystalloids, fat, gas, and other metabolites or foreign material.
INCLUSION BODIES
Are single membrane-bound bodies containing powerful digesting enzymes which assist the cell in destroying foreign particles
LYSOSOME
A storage from glucose
GYLCOGEN GRANULES
Made up of cytoplasm and nucleus and microscopic in size
CELL
Associated with nucleus, ER, mitochondria, Golgi apparatus, lysosomes, and with the secretion of granule
CRYSTALLINE PARTICLES
External boundary of a cell
PLASMA MEMBRANE OR PLASMALEMMA
A tiny, straight, and tubular organelles often of different lengths
MICROTUBULES
Such as lipofuscin observe observed in muscle and nerve fibers; melanin in melanocytes; and hemoglobin in red blood corpuscles
PIGMENTS
Are packed materials to be secreted
SECRETION GRANULES
Epithelial tissue serves as a surface covering of the skin and plasma membrane
MUCOUS
Simple epithelium are cells arranged in a single layer
