System 1 of thinking (thinking fast):
Works automatically ad quickly, with little to no effort and no sense of control, emotions play a big role
System 2 of thinking (thinking slow):
Involves conscious attention to mental efforts that are made, including complex calculations. The subjective experience of action, choice, and concentration
Halo effect:
Cognitive bias, our first impression of a person influences how we feel and think about their character- Prejudice
Availability bias:
We base the probability of an event on information that we already have and that information is therefore easily accessed
Level noise:
variability in assessments in the same case by different individuals.
Pattern noise:
- Stable Pattern Noise: probability the most important source of variability is that people just see the world differently
- Occasion noise: variability resulting from a temporary effect (e.g., mood)
Malingering:
Fabrication, exaggeration of physical/psychological symptoms
