Q

CRISPR/CAS9 in bacteria

A
  1. When virus invades, CAS1/2 protein reads and copies segment of virus’s genetic code
  2. CAS1/2 protein inserts copy in CRISPR region of bacteria genome
  3. Viral sequences transcribed and attach to CAS9
  4. CAS9 searched cell to match sequence. When virus invades CAS9 cuts virus up
