Case example “heart sink patient” what is this?
staff then dismissed the patient who then died. why isn’t this helpful?
a patient who frequently visits practice and the practitioners “heart sinks” when they see them because they visit a lot.
staff did not take the patient seriously who when died - if staff had taken seriously and did protocol treatment of a patient who did not frequently visit a life could have been saved.
patient who is mono linqual came to clinic 3 days in a row to complain of abdo pain.
why is it important to have translator
e.g. patient used famly member - the situation was personal (sexual) and was embarrassed to tell family so a language barrier had impinged treatment.
