Elaborative Integration
a kind of learning technique where the
person repeats the new
information he/she has learned in
his/her own words.
Self-explanation
A popular technique involves having students writing summaries of various lengths of to-be- learned texts. It is getting the main points of a text and capture the gist of it while excluding unimportant material.
Summarization
Underlining or highlighting is a common learning technique where individuals mark or emphasize important information within a text using a pen, pencil, or digital tool. This technique is often employed while studying textbooks, articles, or other educational materials.
Highlighting
Use of keywords and mental imagery to associate verbal material. These are memory devices that help learners recall larger pieces of information, especially in the form of lists like characteristics, steps, stages, parts, etc.
Keyword NMEMONIC
Techniques that is a literary device used in poetry, novels, and other writing that uses vivid description that appeals to a readers’ senses to create an image or idea in their head.
Imagery for text
the process of continuously engaging with a text again, guided by a specific objective so that parts of the text are reviewed and reconsidered. The most effective type of reading is rereading because it allows readers to reconsider the meaning of the text and pick up on details they may have missed the first time around
Rereading
It is when students take tests or quizzes that are similar to the ones they will have in class.
Practice testing
also known as spaced repetition, involves spacing out study or practice sessions over time rather than cramming all at once.
Distributed practice
It is a process where students mix, or interleave, multiple subjects or topics while they study in order to improve their learning.
