Learning Flashcards
Whats a good complete strategy to learn a completely new skill
The strategy
1. figure out subcategories from pros
2. learn/internalize basic general knowledge about the skill (a surface level understanding of each subcategory) from pros
3. choose what to hone in on, either 1-2 subcategories at a time, or more general knowledge for quick intuition (typically the prior is better)
4. repeat step 2 on deeper and deeper levels for what youre learning. After decent mastery if you want further skill, i recommend improving quality or speed of your work
5. after enough mastery, switch to a different subcategory/thing to learn
Key things
- learn from pros at every step possible, dont self-research unless have to, even in LoL master rank pro advice was better than my logic
- practice practice practice. To internalize, you must both practice and memorize. Remembering isnt enough
- use notetaking/flash cards to not lose info during steps (eg. What subcategories exist)
What are the top 3 ways to make learning more efficient
- learn from pros/mentors to have optimal path and skip bottlenecks, sometimes even skipping a ton of work (superday stuff)
- practice a lot, all skills need muscle memory to be applied, even infoheavy skills like game design or medicine/doctors
- utilize Efficient Work and Worktime strats. Learning is work, just improvement-oriented not resource gains. This is HUGE
