Q

“What is defeat?”

A

“What is defeat? Nothing but education; Nothing but the first steps to something better.” - Wendell Phillips. Failure, as the quote says, is an option to improve, and you have to fail to sometimes improve. The road to success is filled with failure and every time you meet it ask; What went wrong here? What can be improved? What am I missing? So being wrong or changing course isn’t shameful, it shows character to admit your mistakes. The question is whether you slip and fail or fall and quit.
“Failure shows us the way, by showing us what isn’t the way.” - Ryan Holiday

Q

Invest in Yourself

A

The secret to economic success is to become more valuable in the marketplace. This translates to other areas of life where success in that field will be quickened by becoming more valuable in that field. The secret to wealth is simple: you have to do more for others than anyone else. This means you have to become valuable. Do more. Give more. Be more. Serve more. You will get the opportunity to earn more if you follow this advice. Get experience both educational and practical, and then have the patience to apply it every single day no matter what. It won’t be easy but greatness doesn’t come easily.

“Try not to become a man of success, but rather a man of value” - Albert Einstein

“To have more, you simply have to become more

Don’t wish it was easier, wish you were better

For the things to change, you have to change

For things to get better, you have to get better!”

See the thing in all of these sentences? It’s YOU because only you can change your given situation and do it by investing in yourself. Learn to work harder on yourself than you do on your job. So make a pact with yourself. I would never stop growing, never stop giving, never stop expanding my influence or my capacity to do good. Simply follow this and you will become a man of great value, the world never has too many of great value. In every economic crisis, it isn’t the top earners who get fired, it’s the lower-paid ones since their value is less.
