Three things before every maneuver
- Clearing turns
- Observe a minimum safe altitude
- Receive ATC Clearance if required

One dot or greater left or right deviation, +/- 10 degrees of heading
Altitudes (Deviation that should be announced)
Climbing or descending from assigned altitude +/- 100 feet

Exceeding desired or assigned speed +/- 10 knots
Descent rates (Deviation that should be announced)
Descending greater than 1000 fpm during the final approach phase
Leaving DH/DA (Deviation that should be announced)
One-quarter scale deflection of glideslope/localizer
MDA (Deviation that should be announced)
Descending below the selected altitude
After the navaid is tuned and identified, PM announces:
“Facility Tuned and Identified”
Steps for a malfunction in flight (4 items)
- Observing crewmember verbally announces any indication of a malfunction
- Malfunction verified
- PF announces decision, accomplishes memory items, calls for proper checklist
- PF monitors PM while accomplishing memory items and checklists

Takeoff safety speed/second segment climb speed
