- Clearing turns
- Observe a minimum safe altitude
- Receive ATC Clearance if required

“Facility Tuned and Identified”
Steps for a malfunction in flight (4 items)
- Observing crewmember verbally announces any indication of a malfunction
- Malfunction verified
- PF announces decision, accomplishes memory items, calls for proper checklist
- PF monitors PM while accomplishing memory items and checklists

FGC
Flight Guidance Controller
Altitude change when aircraft is being handflown (Callouts, 4 things)
- PF flies the aircraft
- PM makes the required selection in the guidance panel
- PM says “XX,XXX Set”
- PF verbally acknowledges new altitude
Altitude change when autopilot is engaged (Callouts, 4 things)
- PF makes all guidance selections
- PM makes all altitude selections
- PF says ex. “FL350 Set”
- On approach PF directs the PM to set intermediate altitudes as required “Set 1900 Feet”
