Learjet 35 PTM Chapter 3 (Lighting) Flashcards
Do the floodlights require AC or DC power?
115 VAC Power
The cabin overhead lights automatically illuminate full bright when the cabin altitude reaches __________ ft.
14,000 ft
To avoid damage to the cabin fluorescent overhead lighting, the lights should be turned on to _____ for 2 to 3 minutes before selecting ____.
BRT; DIM
If the aft baggage compartment lights will not go out, what circuit breaker can you pull? (What cuts the power to them?)
ENTRY LT circuit breaker
When testing the EMER LIGHT system… Setting the switch to TEST does what?
This simulates a failure of normal DC electrical power and illuminates:
- Upper cabinet entry door light
- Emergency exit light
- And the cabin overhead fluorescent lights
How many watts are the landing lights?
They are each 450 W, with a 20 amp current limiter for each side
How does the electrical system regulate the brightness between TAXI and LDG LT positions?
When the switch is set to TAXI, a relay closes that directs power through a resistor and limits current to the lamp. Moving the switch to LDG LT closes a second relay which allows the current to bypass the resistor and increases the brightness.
Regardless of switch position, the landing lights will not illuminate unless the respective landing gear down-and-locked switches are ________.
Closed. This is an excellent way to tell if your gear is down and locked. Turn off all exterior lights except for the landing lights, and ask the tower how many lights they see.
How many watts is the recognition light?
250 W
Our exterior lights require AC or DC power?
DC Power
If there is ice on the black spot on the leading edge of the wing, what will it look like?
If there is ice, it will obscure the spot.
