Ledership style, Charismatic
Leads by motivating workers through the force of personality and communication skills. Charismatic leaders are committed to the organisation and its goals
Autocratic
Are bestowed power and authority to make decisions on their own. This style is effective where workers require close supervision but is less so in environments where innovation and creativity are key value adding activities.
Task orientated
Emphasis on the task and its successful completion. Does not cater for the worker’s emotional needs and requires the type of close supervision and control that some workers may resent. The leadership style is task and goal orientated.
Beuraucratic
Leaders adhere to set procedures before passing decision making to the next level in hierarchy
Democratic
Take account of other opinions and ideas but ultimately makes the decisions
Laissez-faire
Little guidence and feedback is given by the leader as worker’s are expected to be experienced and skilled
People-oriented
Focuses on train and support employees
Servent leader
The leader ensures that workers have everything they need to be productive and complete the task
Transactional
Empowered to perform certain tasks and ethier reward or punish workers according to their performance
Transformational
Motivates workers to be effective an efficient, leders ar strategic in their thinking and outlook
Coercive
Power is dependent on fear
Reward
The dispense rewards that followers perceive as valuable
Legitimate
Power is derived from the status or position
Expert
Power is derived from the possession of skills, experience or expertise
Referent
Power is derived from the possession of valuable resources or personal traits that are valued by others
