Describe authoritarian leadership
A
- leader tells members of community what to do without asking for their opinion
- leaders have all the power and make all the decisions
- gets things done and avoids mistakes
- can lead to bossy leaders and unhappy communities

Describe democratic leadership
A
- the leader encourages the members of the community to be involved in the running of the community and decision making
- the leader shares information with the members
- the leader may have to make final decisions, but only after asking the members
- can give members confidence and allow them to develop
- may not work if there is no trust between the leader and the members

Describe free-reign leadership
A
- leader hands over control to the members
- members have lots of freedom and are often left to solve problems on their own
- can make members feel important and valued
- can lead to trouble if there is no structure and members don’t feel supported
