Cons = little or no flexibility often not sustainable

Definition = fixed official duties under a hierarchy or authority
Pros =. Clear lines of authority, appearance of “fairness”
Cons = little innovation and reacts slowly to environmental changes
Charismatic leadership
Definition = leader transforms followers Values and beliefs
Pros = can create drastic change
Cons = little sustainability
Democratic leadership
Definition = subordinates involved in decision making
Pros = preferred by most
Cons = extensive communication requirements, subject to gaming
Laissez-Faire Leadership
Definition = gives all authority followers
Pros = minimal interference in the work of employees
Cons = least satisfying/ least effective
Servant Leadership
Definition = leader as a servant focused on serving the needs of others
Pros = subordinates grow & flourish
Cons = requires the most effort on the leader
Situational leadership
Definition = leader adjusts style to fit the development level of followers
Pros = Easy for followers to understand their preferred leadership style
Cons = difficult for leader to change for different followers
Transactional leadership
Definition = leader uses rewards and punishment to accomplish goals
Pros = Good in crisis situations
Cons - susceptible to the status quo bias
