Situational/Contingency Theory

Locus of control
Whether a person assigns responsibility for what happens to him/her from within or outside forces
Value
a fundamental belief that is important, stable over time, impacts peoples attitudes and behaviours

Emotional Intelligence
Form of intelligence relating to the emotional part of life, ability to perceive, identify, understand and successfully manage the emotions of self and others
The Amygdala Hijack
brain senses threat, amygdala overrides the system and sends the response before the neocortex can think. Cortisol floods area fight or flight response
